About the Contributor

Veda Dean is a graduating senior majoring in Communication and Media Studies at Sonoma State University, a freelance writer and reporter, and a member of the Sonoma State Star editorial board as the Arts and Entertainment Editor. In the Fall, she will work toward her Master's Degree in Communication Studies, studying political communication and mass media at Sacramento State University. 

 

"Uncovering Ione" is her final culminating senior project at SSU as well as a project of passion honoring her hometown. In 2022, she was crowned "Miss Ione" and served her community for the year. She was proud to represent the people and welcoming culture of her town. Since then, she has been dedicated to her community and covers local politics for the Amador Ledger Dispatch.
